ELI hosts annual wine tasting

English Learning Institute (ELI), a subsidiary of Global Education Institute (GEI), hosted its 2015 summer wine tasting June 17 as part of the cultural enrichment program for its international students.

Two dozen international students, ESL teachers and local American families participated in the three-hour event featuring vintages from throughout the world. ELI selected wines from Italy, South Africa, Portugal and Germany to mirror the multinational composition of its students. ELI paired each wine with complimentary foods to highlight the nuanced flavors of the wine selections.

ELI’s international students enjoyed a unique experience while sharing delicacies with each other and gained cultural insights unattainable within a normal classroom environment.  Participants said they enjoyed matching the subtle flavors of the wines with the assortment of international gourmet foods.
